This morning, the communications office of Gov. Nathan Deal has been highlighting this bit of good information:

Patrick Saunders, deputy editor over at the Georgia Voice, reports that the newspapers gay and lesbian readers were recently asked to name their favorite things. Whiskers on kittens, woolen mittens, etc.

On a long “Best of Atlanta” list of finalists, following entries for favorite DJ, drag queen, drag king, restaurant and gay bar, came the category of “politician.” Here’s who Voice readers named:


After a gay Atlanta City Councilman and a member of Congress comes the Republican governor who vetoed HB 757, followed by a fresh-faced, openly gay member of the Legislature.
