The family of former Georgia Gov. Zell Miller said this morning that the 84-year-old was moved to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta for “further observation and treatment” after he fractured his right hip and right shoulder last month in a fall at a Young Harris College basketball game.
The following just arrived from one of his grandsons, Bryan Miller:
Late Saturday evening the Gov. was moved to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta for further observation and treatment. The Gov. is currently resting comfortably. He is undergoing routine testing and extensive physical therapy. The team of doctors at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta are some of the best in the nation. They are confident they can continue to help him recovery from this latest episode. Again, words cannot express how thankful our family is for the outpouring of support we have received during this difficult time. We again ask everyone to continue to keep Gov and Mrs. Miller in your thoughts and prayers.
As Jim Galloway wrote earlier:
Here’s betting he’s running the hospital by Saturday.
