The Carter Center in Atlanta has sent this out:
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter underwent an elective procedure at Emory University Hospital today to remove a small mass in his liver. His operation proceeded without issues, and the prognosis is excellent for a full recovery.
A spokewoman for the Carter Center refused to say whether Carter is still in hospital. But the Associated Press included this in its report:
Julia Prosser with the publisher Simon & Schuster said Carter completed a tour Saturday promoting his latest book, “A Full Life: Reflections at 90.”

Rank hypocrites that they are,the wing nuts on the right constantly weep their crocodile tears claiming they want a faith-based government based on their so-called christian values. There have been two true Christians in the oval office in my life time, JFK and Jimmy Carter. The wing nuts of Texas made sure JFK did not get a chance at a second term, by utilizing the time honored measure they always used to eliminate problem people. When it came time to stop Carter, they realized they did not need to resort to violence, they only had to dispatch good ol' GHW Bush to negotiate with the Ayotollah to keep the hostages long enough to ensure raygun's election. Their efforts ensured that a true Christian president was removed from office so a fake Christian could take over. Whereas Carter incorporated Christian principles in both his foreign and domestic policies, raygun advocated for the rich getting richer, cutting welfare to the poor and Social Security for the elderly, while expanding America's war machine into Central and South America by supporting Guatemalan and Salvadoran death squads who killed nuns, priests and others working for economic justice in those countries. That's why any talk about their 'christian values' from the right wing is laughable.

Good lord. Did we really need to know he had liver surgery? He was a failed president, much like the last 2 we have had (Bush and Obama). Nobody really wants to hear about the failures after they leave office.
