Joe Biden will be in Atlanta on Tuesday

Vice President Joseph Biden will travel to the Atlanta area Tuesday.

The vice president’s office would not provide any details, but we’re told he will visit Drew Charter School in East Lake.

Tuesday is also the day President Barack Obama releases his budget request to Congress, so the trip could be related to a new administration initiative there. Also, if you see Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed in the pack, keep in mind that quite a few people are looking to see if the White House will slip in some significant funds for the dredging of the Port of Savannah.

Hopefully he's coming to tell us that President Obama has had a change of heart regarding the disgusting choice he made to nominate two very appalling, well-documented bigots to the federal judiciary, Michael Boggs and Mark Cohen.

Biden's help getting funding for the Savannah port will probably be totally unnoticed in the partisan bickering.

It's nice to live in a time when you are proud to have the Vice President visit, rather than to make sure you are behind something lest you get shot in the face.

Hide the women, minorities, and children and hope he doesn't have to go into any convenience stores.

"Plugs" Biden should really WOW! the crowd of minds full of mush at the school.  I mean, who can challenge him there?

Let's all get out our tape recorders for the gaff machine that is our "honorable" Vice President, Plugs Biden.

Yet another reason for automobile traffic and air traffic to be screwed up.

As per every other President Obama budget request, it is Dead on Arrival.

It will get a LOT of liberal media coverage just like the Senate's Democratic immigration reform legislation that was also D.O.A.

@NWGAL

Well, that is one place where I disagree with him as there is no reason to destroy the Savannah River estuary for ships that will never come.

@SmartAleck   This from the guy you voted into the highest office in the free world.  I guess to a 'smartaleck,' though, these probably sound intelligent:

"There's an old saying in Tennessee—I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee—that says, fool me once, shame on—shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again."—Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

"Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"

''Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country.''

''Neither in French nor in English nor in Mexican.''

 ''We'll let our friends be the peacekeepers and the great country called America will be the pacemakers.''

Just remindin'.

@The_Centrist And the repub immigration plan? Oh and you've and the rest of the cons have been waiting on the President to submit a budget, but before he even submits it you criticize.

@RoadScholar - Not only did you miss his play on words (Biden grates on a lot Democrats nerves, too), but you posted the same comment twice.  Suggest some remedial work for you. (TIC)

@AuntieChrist @SmartAleck

Please don't remind me. These were the many palm meets face moments which I would rather forget. Bush actually had people read him reports because he didn't like reading. Maybe his daily briefings should have taken the form of comic books.

There have been all sorts of Republican plans floated, but so far the consensus is that the Obama administration has proven it only upholds laws it likes, and ignores what it doesn't like - so no sense in using political capital.

Obama has already leaked that his latest budget (he can't even get his budgets passed by the Democratic Senate - last year's didn't get a single vote) now lacks the chained CPI he once agreed to.

You would think by now this buffoon would learn that when he comes here with his rupert murdoch talking points (i.e. lies) they will be shot down like fish in a barrel.

As you know, you blog with the talking points you have, not the talking points you might want or wish to have at a later time.

Can you say "signing statement?"

 In an article published on April 30, 2006, the Globe wrote that “President Bush has quietly claimed the authority to disobey more than 750 laws enacted since he took office.”  In a clarification issued May 4, 2006, the Globe note that Bush had not really challenged 750 bills (which would have implied 750 signing statements), but “has claimed the authority to bypass more than 750 statutes, which were provisions contained in about 125 bills.” http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/signingstatements.php

Amnesiac repuppies. They forget everything and learn nothing. You would think by now this buffoon would learn that when he comes here with his rupert murdoch talking points (i.e. lies) they will be shot down like fish in a barrel.

@The_Centrist

Well, the wrong-wingers who's failed economic policies never worked (no increase in jobs, no magic laffer-curve increase in revenue, etc.) and they don't get their way this time.

Tough.
